First, Heat Vision reports Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings) is playing villain General Zod in the film, while Moviehole thought I heard that Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood) is necessary for an unspecified roleNote that these actors are not even in the talks and the possibility of participation must be taken with a grain of salt at this time. Hopefully this does not become a trend after the recent talk of Kevin Costner playing a role in Superman: The Man of Steel came to light, but a couple more names have apparently appeared in Warner Bros. and additions Radar potential cast Zack Snyder’s adaptation of the comic.
However, at this point is not necessarily clear that Mortensen would play General Zod. The villain has only been rumored that in the script, and nothing has been confirmed on that front yet.
