IFC Films and Sony Pictures ACQUISITIONS WORLDWIDE PARTNER TO TAKE
NORTH AMERICAN RIGHTS OF GEORGE Ratliff SALVATION BOULEVARD
Park City, Utah (January 27, 2011) – IFC Films and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) announced today at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival that the companies have partnered to purchase North American rights to George Ratliff SALVATION BOULEVARD which premiered this week at the festival in the releases section. The film, scripted by Ratliff (whose previous films include Hell House and Joshua) and Max Doug Stone, based on the novel by Larry Beinhart, stars Pierce Brosnan, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Greg Kinnear, Jim Gaffigan and Marisa Tomei. The film, produced by Mandalay view a movie of Mandalay Pictures, was produced by Cathy Schulman, Celine Rattray and Peter Fruchtman, and will be released in theaters through IFC Films.

The deal for the film was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, senior vice president of Acquisitions and Productions for selecting Sundance / IFC Films and Betsy Rodgers, Vice President of Business & Legal Afffairs to select Sundance / IFC Films Shoom Scott, Vice President of Acquisitions and SPWA productions and Michael Helfand, SPWA Senior Vice President of Business Affairs, and Rena Ronson and Richard Klubeck at UTA, on behalf of the filmmakers.
His next documentary, Hell House (2001), followed by annual Halloween ritual of a mega church set up a haunted house to scare children into Christianity. Her film was screened at the Joshua Sundance Film Festival 2007 and was released by Fox Searchlight. Ratliff grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and went to film school at the University of Texas at Austin. His first feature, Plutonium Circus (1995), a documentary about the great secret Pantex nuclear weapons plant in Amarillo, won the award for best feature documentary at the SXSW Film Festival and began his career. Ratliff lives with his wife and three children in Santa Monica.

PARTNER FOR “PROJECT NIM” Park City, Utah (January 27, 2011) – HBO has teamed with Roadside Attractions U.S. rights theatrical and DVD Project Nim, the 2011 Sundance Film Festival’s opening World Cinema Competition Documentary, it was announced today by Sheila Nevins, President of HBO Documentary Films and Howard Cohen, Attractions Co-Chair on the road. The film will be released in theaters by Roadside Attractions, on television on HBO and on DVD through Lionsgate.
The Oscar © winning team behind Man on Wire, director James Marsh and producer Simon Chinn, is the story of Nim, a chimpanzee at the 1970 became the focus of a historic experiment aimed at demonstrating that a monkey could learn to communicate with the language if raised and fed as a human child. After Nim’s extraordinary journey through the human society, and the lasting impact made on the people he meets along the way, the film is an unflinching and unsentimental biography of an animal to treat humans.
The HBO deal was negotiated by Josh Braun and Cohen submarine Roadside Attractions’ Howard.
